Bankim Brahmbhatt Accused of 500 Million Global Fraud Full Details Inside

Bankim Brahmbhatt, a US-based telecom executive of Indian origin, is facing serious allegations of orchestrating a massive 500 million dollar fraud that has impacted several global financial firms. The case has captured international attention due to the sheer scale and complexity of the alleged deception involving leading institutions like BlackRock and BNP Paribas.

Background and Modus Operandi
According to recent investigations, Brahmbhatt’s companies primarily Broadband Telecom, Bridgevoice, and Carriox Capital allegedly fabricated invoices and customer records. These falsified documents were then used as collateral to secure hundreds of millions in loans from lenders including BlackRock’s private-credit division and BNP Paribas. The alleged scheme reportedly began in 2020, with loan exposure climbing steadily as Brahmbhatt gained the trust of investors through forged business assets and repeated assurances.

The fraud eventually came to light when auditors and lenders detected suspicious email addresses intended to verify customer invoices. Further investigation revealed that many of the purported client accounts and receivables did not exist outside of documentation manufactured by Brahmbhatt’s network. The scheme unraveled quickly, pushing Carriox Capital and related firms into bankruptcy by August 2025.

Impact on Global Firms
The financial loss has been catastrophic, with affected lenders now reportedly owed more than 500 million dollars. BlackRock’s private-credit arm bore the biggest brunt, with its exposure exceeding 430 million dollars, while BNP Paribas reportedly funded about half of the loan aggregate. The fallout has triggered intense scrutiny of loan practices in the private credit market, where asset-backed lending hinges on accurate documentation and genuine receivables.

Forensic audits by accounting firms uncovered that assets pledged as loan collateral existed only on paper, and many transfers were traced to offshore accounts in India and Mauritius. Court filings submitted in August 2025 detail how Brahmbhatt’s companies maintained financial illusions, serviced loans with fictitious payments, and used sophisticated correspondence to mislead auditors and stakeholders.

Legal Action and Current Status
Legal proceedings have been launched against Brahmbhatt and his companies in US courts. Bankruptcy filings and lawsuits are ongoing, with global lenders seeking recovery of their lost funds. While Brahmbhatt has publicly disputed the allegations through his legal representation, authorities and court filings assert that the fraud was deliberate and designed to exploit vulnerabilities in private credit verification systems.

Currently, his whereabouts are unclear, with some sources suggesting that he may be in India. US authorities continue their investigations and pursuit of legal remedies.
